Description: The DC Improv Comedy Club is hosting a special local comedy showcase in our Comedy Lounge. Please note this is not our main showroom. DC is notorious for launching the careers of such comedy greats as, Dave Chappelle, Lewis Black, Tommy Davidson and Wanda Sykes.
Hosted by: Kyle Martin
Courtney Fearrington: Courtney has been featured at comedy clubs and festivals all over the country, including the Bentzen Ball festival. Along with touring clubs he has been heard on DC101, Sirius XM and seen on PBS. He has also worked with comics from Comedy Central, HBO, SNL, and many more.
Jon Mumma: Jon started his comedy career in Washington, DC by pursuing stage time wherever he could get it. Over the past seven years, he has performed at comedy clubs, theatres, bars, coffee shops, bowling alleys, a bachelorette party, a ”naturist resort,” crab feasts, bar mitzvahs, birthday parties, corporate events, moose lodges, weddings, high schools, colleges, cafeterias, military bases and many more. These experiences helped forge a likeable character onstage with crossover appeal to a wide range of audiences.
Jon’s persistence and hardwork has allowed him to work at some of the top clubs in the country performing with some of the nation’s top headliners including Ben Bailey, Carlos Mencia, Charlie Murphy, and the late Greg Giraldo. He was the 2006 winner of the DC Improv’s annual stand-up comedy competition; he has performed for our nation’s troops, he was featured on the PBS’s “The Truth about Money” series, and he can be heard regularly on SiriusXM Satellite Radio’s Comedy Channel.
Tim Miller: Tim Miller's aggressive but endearing comedy style creates a show worth seeing more than once. His life as a sheltered son of Pentecostal ministers from Waco, TX, and working at the White House (during three administrations) has made for an energetic comedy style that combines an engaging stage presence with a sarcastic zing.
Tim started doing stand-up after 8 years in the US Army. After five years he has slowly began trying to leave his professional day job in Washington DC and go head first into wherever the entertainment industry would take him. Since then, Tim has worked with todays biggest names in comedy from Pablo Francisco, Daniel Tosh, Ted Alexandro, and Bob Marley. After performing at the DC Comedy Fest, he was named one of the funniest in Washington DC in a 2006 DC Improv showcase.
Mike Storck: Storck has performed at the Boston Comedy Festival, the Asheville Comedy Festival, the Prince Edward Island Festival, and the Laughing Skull Festival in Atlanta, GA. He was a contributing writer for “The Complete Idiot's Guide to Jokes” and the book “Kiss Your Butts Goodbye”. In 2007 he was the Mid-Atlantic winner of “HBO's Lucky 21” contest. He has been heard on the Nationally Syndicated “Bob and Tom” radio show, the Canadian radio show and podcast “What's So Funny” and is a regularly featured comic on XM Satellite Radio.
Velocity Magazine called him, “...funnier than a rubber crucifix.”. The Ottawa Comedy Resource stated, “...Mike tore the room apart with stunningly good, original and smart stuff. He may very well be the best act on the “alternative” circuit...” and “...delivered cleanly without pretense or exaggerated character, he's just being himself, if it's rehearsed it doesn't show.” Sén magazine said, “... Storck had my guts spilling out of my splitting sides...”
The DC Improv Comedy Lounge will be serving a full dinner menu and drinks. Doors open at 6:30 pm. Show is at 8 pm.
